The concept of using ‘hand pedals’
to drive each back wheel independently by means of a chain and freewheel
sprockets eliminates all the hard work of the normal method of propulsion of the
standard wheelchair. Each back wheel has a ‘back pedal hub brake"
fitted which allows you easy braking and easy steering.
If you need to turn LEFT you just back
pedal slightly with your left hand and forward pedal with your right hand, and
the opposite applies to turn RIGHT (After a while you will be able to
turn a full circle almost on the spot).
